Getting busier
I've been really bad about updating this site. Work has gotten busier. Not crazy busy, but enough that I don't get around to posting here as often.
(As an aside, I've become even worse about posting comments on other people's blogs. I still read all of them, but I generally do it through bloglines. Unless I'm not doing it right, in order to comment I have to open up the blog in another window, and put in my comment. I used to put in that effort, but now I often don't have the time. I do feel bad though, since I know how much I appreciate the comments on my own blog. Sorry...)
I'm still running, though I need to put more time in during the week. This past Sunday I had a beautiful run in Central Park. The weather was beautiful, and I think there must have been about a million people in there.
I've posted similar pictures before, but I just love that I can get this off the Garmin. Central Park is my favorite place to run, and I think that aerial view is just awesome. I did the loop (~6.1 miles) in 55:46, which is about a 9:08 pace. I was surprised at the speed. The run was a little tough, but I wasn't pushing that hard.
In other news, I did get a new phone. It's a Samsung MM-A920, and it does everything. It came with a free bluetooth headset, so that's pretty cool. It also has a 1.3 MP camera, and some other cool features including an mp3 player. I have to buy a card reader in order to get music on the phone, but I'm thinking that I'll be able to run with the phone as an mp3 player, and answer pages that way as well. The only issue is that I had to switch to Sprint, so I'll have to see how the service is before I start buying accessories. So far it's ok, but it's not perfect in my apartment, and I may have missed one call. The trial period is 14 days, but it would be a pain to return it, since I got it online.

I have been a sprint customber for almost 5 years now and I love them. for the most part i can get signal anywere...although it's almost time for me to upgrade my phone and your new one looks all pretty and shiney! Nice job on the run.
Nice phone! Let us know how that mp3 player works while running...I am very interested in that.
Also...how did you get the satellite image to work with your garmin? I have the 301...but the only thing I can see that it shows when I upload(I am using the software that came with it) is just where I ran on a regular map. Did you buy extra software?
I understand that you're busy...don't worry about answering this until you have time. No rush! :)
Work stinks!! It totally gets in the way of a LOT of fun!
Cool new phone!!
The maps are pretty cool, aren't they? You can make one up using the Gmaps Pedometer (see my sidebar), but this one is real, with satellites tracking you as you run. (Is that crazy, or what?)
Garmin is the company that makes these GPS watches. I have the cheapest model, the Forerunner 201. They have some new models that looks (slightly) less nerdy, and supposedly have better reception. Some track your heart rate as well.
SportTracks is great, and it's a free download. (If you like it, you can donate money to the cause, but that's voluntary.)
