Not good
My ankle still hurts. It got better, but it still hurts. I jogged a few steps last night, and it hurt. I can't run this weekend, and I can't run this marathon. I'm really bummed. I think I wasn't so upset last week because I thought I'd get better. But now I'm really upset. I do those long runs because I know I need them for the marathon. It's tough not to get there.
Thanks for all the well wishes. I appreciate it. The advice as well. (Although the obvious solution to the weight gain issue is to eat less. So obvious. So not going to happen.) Maybe I'll take up swimming again - though it's such a pain.
I stopped by the physical therapy department today to see my friend. She gave me some exercises to do. They're basically to keep the muscles in the foot strong, but the ligaments are still going to heal. And I have no idea how long that's going to take.
Sigh...

bummer man. maybe by some miracle it will heal. if not, those miles were not in vain, they will help build up your base right? when you are ready, you will kick butt on the next one.
That majorly sucks, Danny. Sorry this happened to you. :(
oh that sucks dude.
i'm so sorry that you'll miss out on the marathon....but like brent said, you should have a good base for starting training for the next marathon.
i'm sorry to hear about the injury :(
take care of that ankle-hope you'll be able to do NYC this fall!
